Since joining Knightsbridge I have been blown away by the innovative culture here. We have incredibly diverse client base each with their own unique and often pioneering set of values and ideas.
Having spent the last twenty years in the fast paced and often gruelling industry of hospitality I have found my move here to be the prefect fit for me. One of the things that I loved most about working as a Private Chef was the relationship that I developed with each of my clients, no two are the same and no two days are the same; it is the same here at Knightsbridge. All of clients are completely different from a diverse range of backgrounds and indeed countries. It is this diversity which defines the culture here at Knightsbridge. We thrive on pleasing our clients and a job ‘well done’ and are entirely committed to going the extra mile in order to achieve that.
For some time now I have been looking for a change of career. It has been a busy couple of years, I have found myself a wonderful man, moved house, moved country and carted my long suffering terrier, Stanley, with me. In light of all of this change in other aspects of my life I was reticent to bring about a change in my somewhat lucrative and glamourous career of private cheffing but there has been a faint cry in the corner of my mind for some time. The hours, the travel, the uncertainty and unpredictable schedule was beginning to take its toll and a career that I had once found alluring, thrilling, exciting and completely fulfilling as a younger, single woman living in the centre of London, was beginning to take its toll and the shine was wearing off. In the end, and very much as it should always do, love won and I decided that it was time to hang up my knives, put away the suitcase and give up the nomadic existence in favour of the same warm bed at night with my long suffering terrier, and by this stage, even longer suffering boyfriend.
I haven’t looked back. It was time and after a fair bit of job hunting and consequential disappointments, Knightsbridge has become my new home and I love it. Here we appreciate the challenging and highly complex nature of people’s lives and businesses, especially when considering a move to Gibraltar. Without expert help and guidance from Knightsbridge’s own director Michaela Rees, I would never have succeeded in establishing my own residency, for this I will be eternally grateful, in fact, so much so that I am now working here and helping others to achieve the very same.
With the ever changing pace and diverse nature of the work, combined with an entirely inclusive and flexible approach to the working environment (we can work a four day week or flexi-hours) I couldn’t be happier. With these CORE beliefs, I believe that here, we are all best equipped to serve our clients in a thorough, professional and energetic manner.
