How did Resin Art by Hollie begin?
Hollie has always been a creative person. Before the pandemic, she had already set up “My little Sew & Sew”, which sells personalised, hand-made gifts like Christmas stockings and Mothers day gifts. She created this business after she had her daughter because she wanted to be able to do something from home.
When Hollie started this business she sold all of her products only on facebook, this had excellent results as she was able to reach a wide audience. However, it has become more difficult to do this because you need to pay for advertising, as well as this, a business page can get lost unless you are very active.
However, Hollie said this has become monotonous; producing the same thing over and over again with very little creativity.
After initially looking into resin art to put her father’s ashes into jewellery, she realised she loved the creativity of it and decided to create another business to sell the Resin Art.

Resin Art by Hollie was set up in December and had its first sale in January. Hollie now uses both Etsy and Facebook Market place to advertise and sell her products.
Hollie learned how to work with the materials & how to create her products by watching YouTube and in groups on Social Media; people have been very helpful in giving advice on all sorts, even to the point of where’s best to purchase the materials
This new revenue of Business is great as it means she can be creative (each piece is unique & different to the last) and it’s actually a good income earner.
Where does Hollie see herself in 5 years time?
Ideally, she would like to give up being a teacher completely and focus on her Resin Art. Her dream for this side of her ‘Business’ would be to be a supplier to shops for Fine Art or Art and Design type stores. Bespoke furniture & gifts. Would have to look into setting up a Business Name & everything associated with running a full-time company.
